Kabelo Tshoshi better known as Lil Pain he is a rapper and songwriter from a township in Pretoria called Nellmapius.
With his love for music starting from as early as 8 years old, Kabelo's musical journey really started at a young age.
"My father was into music too, I remember stealing my fathers drums in the storeroom whenever he would go to work and I would play them all day long singing traditional songs and I was at my happiest, and that's when I knew my connection with music was deep" says the rapper.
On the 24th of August 2021, the artist released an album with his song that has been doing quite well titled Some Time. The single has helped get him the recognition that he deserves and he has no plans on slowing down.
This album spoke about his hustle and life in the ghetto, he explains how it influences the music he makes. Lil Pain also speaks about his differences in the ghetto, and what they meant to him, as well as personal experiences that helped contribute to the person he has become.
The artist draws inspiration from musical greats such Sjava, Nasty C, Cassper Nyovest, Aka and many more alike.
Despite the album speaking about his hardships, the album is also fun, and manages to include social issues such as drug abuse, teenage pregnancy and women abuse.
Lil Pain has seen exponential growth in his career and has seen him work with the likes of G-force, KidLow, Mr. Skorokoro, DJ Checkmate on his album. He has also worked alongside Cruz Afrika on one of his singles which promises to be everything we deserve to hear and more. Lil Pain has proudly won best music video at the Mamelodi Hip-Hop awards and as won song of the year for his single 'Some Time'.
This is just the beginning for the artist who has a promising future in the industry. His determination will definitely carry the musician and his musical aspirations. Which we eagerly look forward to.
