Proud dad Eddie Murphy, 59, reveals he feels 'so blessed' that none of his TEN children have turned out to be 'Hollywood jerks'

Eddie Murphy is singing the praises of his sizeable brood of 10 children, as he has expressed pride at none of them turning out to be 'Hollywood jerks'.

The Coming 2 America star, 59, boasts five sons and five daughters – ranging in age from two to 31 – from five relationships, and has revealed that he has a good relationship with every single one of them.

'I am going to be 60 in April and I have all these babies, I love fatherhood. That is the centre of everything,' The Mirror quotes him as saying. 'The whole idea of being out there and doing three movies a year, that s*** is over. I have got all these babies.

'I found it over and over again and along the way I realised that if you put your children first you never make a bad decision. When you hit a crossroads moment or you have got some s***, you think, "Well, what is best for my children?"' He added: 'I am so blessed with my kids. I don’t have one bad seed. I don’t have any like, "Oh you are the one". I don’t have any of that. 'My kids are so great, normal people – and nobody is like the Hollywood jerk kid. My kids are smart and are trying to do stuff. I am blessed with my kids. I really, really got lucky.'

Most recently Eddie and his Australian fiancée Paige Butcher, 41, welcomed son Max, two, in November 2018. They also have a four-year-old daughter called Izzy.  He also has a son Eric, 31, with Paulette McNeeley; five children with Nicole Mitchell Murphy: Bria, 31, Myles, 28, Shayne, 26, Zola, 21, and Bella, 19; a son, Christian, 30, with Tamara Hood; and a daughter, Angel, 13, with Spice Girls star Mel B.

After divorcing Nicole Mitchell, Murphy dated British singer and TV personality Mel B. He then began dating model Butcher in 2012, after having a short-lived 'symbolic union' with film producer Tracey Edmonds.

Earlier this month, the star gushed about working with his daughter, Bella, who stars alongside him in the film as Omma, the daughter of his Prince Akeem character in Coming 2 America - the sequel to his 1988 comedy classic. 'So to look over on a movie set and my daughter is there and she's in my movie and doing an amazing job, you make me start getting goofy and gushy. It's a special thing to have your baby girl in the movie and to be doing a good job.'

Back in December 2019, the comedian revealed that he was 'happy' with having so many children in his life during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. But, according to Murphy, the feedback from people over the years has been mixed, and for the most part, broken down by gender.  'Men kind of look at me like, he's crazy. How much did that sh** cost?' Murphy explained. 'And women, it’s kind of like, something sexy about it, I think.

'You could go see your child in a school play and your heart would burst with pride,' he said during an appearance on Australian talk show The Sunday Project.'"Eddie Murphy must be doing this thing. Eddie Murphy be getting it in." It seems OK... I like it. I'm happy with it.'

In December 2018, the legendary comedian posed for a Christmas picture with all 10 of his offspring, which at the time was their first complete family photo together, according to Us Weekly. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight in August 2016, Murphy gushed about the impact his children have had on his perspective. 'The brightest part of my life is my kids. My world revolves around them--  even the old, grey bald ones,' he joked.
