Kanye's 'DONDA' Chicago Event Will Be Offering Vaccinations As ‘Ye will not require attendees to show proof of vaccination.

According to reports, Kanye West‘s DONDA listening event in Chicago will be offering COVID-19 vaccinations.

A spokesperson for Soldier Field, the Chicago stadium where the event will be taking place, noted that over 1,500 doses will be offered to interested attendees. The vaccinations will be split between the newly FDA-approved Pfizer and one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Officials from the Chicago Department of Health will also be on-site to coordinate date and times for the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Word of the vaccine effort comes after ‘Ye received backlash for not requiring attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to attend his upcoming listening event.

It is interesting to note, the City of Chicago, ASM Global Management and Soldier Field set the vaccination effort for the 38,000 fans (60 percent capacity) coming as an attempt to curb the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant. Additionally, Kanye’s last listening event in Atlanta also featured a similar vaccination effort but only four out of 40,000 attendees received the shot.

“Kanye West’s performance is one of many examples that show that Chicago can be open and safe at the same time,” said Chicago Park District spokeswoman Michele Lemons to the Chicago Tribune. “We have worked with Soldier Field on COVID-19 safety protocols, as we have other venues including Wrigley and Guaranteed Rate Fields, and feel this event can be safely held with the proper mitigation efforts in place.”
