Born and bred in Johannesburg, the 24 year old star studied and finished her Honours Degree in Dramatic Arts at Witwatersrand University in 2019.
Buntu’s emergence into the movie industry began with her appearance as a TV presenter for SABC1’s science and technology show, “Teenagers on a Mission” (TOMz).
Buntu Petse was given the role after a series of auditions where she was competing with other talents. According to her, it was difficult for the production crew to choose from all of them, but she became the chosen one. She regarded herself as ‘blessed’ for being chosen to portray the role of Nontle on Generations-The Legacy.
Since acting was a new environment for her, she indicated that she remembers herself making mistakes when she got on stage for the first time.
Buntu Petse is not in any relationship, yet. She is good at keeping her relationship off of the media. She looks to get married in 5 years’ time.
According to her in an interview, she said
“In 5 years I will be married, with a child, living in a beautiful home that I own. But more importantly, doing what I love the most. Acting,” she says.
