Squid Game’s Oh Yeong-Su becomes first Korean actor to bag Golden Globe award; Netizens heap praise on their ‘favourite old man’

A big day for all K-actors indeed! Netflix's much-loved show Squid Game took over the world by storm right after its release. The deadly storyline intrigued far too many viewers, so of course, fans had been rooting heavily for Squid Game to win all major awards. As Golden Globes 2022 named their winners today, fans were nothing short of proud for their 'favourite old man' Oh Yeong-su to have won big.

Oh Yeong-su became a household name right after his portrayal of an elderly contestant in the thrilling series of games that did not have any rosy outcomes. Spoiler alert: Imagine the worldwide shock when the same old sweet man that we all loved turned out to be the mastermind!

Nevertheless, now Oh Yeong-su has been rightfully awarded his first major award and fans couldn't be prouder. The 77-year-old actor won Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role on TV for his role and was nominated alongside Billy Crudup and Mark Duplass of The Morning Show, Kieran Culkin of Succession and Brett Goldstein of Ted Lasso to bag the trophy.
