Mpoomy Ledwaba was born to a Christian family in Middelburg, Mpumalanga on January 23 1994. She is a businesswoman, content creator, and wife of South African soul singer Brendan Praise. She initially came to the limelight for being the wife of the runner-up of the 9th season of the Idol SA talent show, but over the years, she has created a niche for herself, and she is now a celebrity and influencer.
As early as the age of five, Mpoomy was already a part of the church choir, the same choir of which her dad and four siblings were also members. She lost her sister to a car accident and also lost her dad to Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).
Mpoomy relocated to Gauteng at some point in her life, where she landed a job at Investec as a banker while studying Accounting at University of Johannesburg. She later dropped out of Varsity and pursued her career.
The decision to drop out of school was a very dicey one. She knew she had two options, either to make it or to regret it, and she was determined to make it. As expected, her parents were not happy with her decision, but she was convinced it was the best thing to do.
Unfortunately, she did not have the capital to start her business plan. But thankfully, she is a beautiful woman, and her beauty served as an asset to her. She was fortunate enough to land a job with a modeling agency that paid her R22,000. She modeled for a billboard and television advert.
With the money she made from modeling, she was able to start her own business, and today, she now has several businesses to her name.
Ledwaba is the wife of Brendan Praise, they got married in 2017. At this time, they were only 23 and did not have the money to do the wedding of their dreams. Mpoomy has recounted on social media how they spent only R10,000 on their wedding and how only 50 guests graced the event.
Four years after their white wedding, they had their traditional marriage, which was the wedding of their dreams. They were both dressed in traditional attires, and it was obvious that they had more money. Their union is blessed with two amazing children, and Mpoomy is doing a great job combining motherhood, being a wife, and career.
Her husband is also very supportive of her and regularly features in her YouTube video. It is noteworthy that both Mpoomy and Brenden Praise are the same age. This couple serves as couple goals, and they both are so good at having fun, despite how busy their schedule may be.
Mpoomy invested in the cleaning business from the money she made from modeling. She created flyers and advertised herself on all the platforms she could. She started cleaning people’s houses all by herself for some time until she could employ staff members. Aside Cleanipedia, she is also the founder of Aneno Beauty, which sells wigs. She also owns a coffee bar.
Mpoomy is a director at Ukhamba Lobuntu Chem and the co-founder of ‘Hello Gorgeous Lets Talk.’ Although she may not have completed university and is already a successful businesswoman who may never need to go back to school, her knowledge about finance from the university has contributed to helping her grow and manage all her businesses.
Aside from doing business, Mpoomy Ledwaba has also ventured into music. She went from being a choir member to a backup singer for famous music artists like Dr. Tumi, Donnie McClurkin, and Vashawn Mitchel.
She has worked with brands like Disney Africa, Lancewood.co.za, and Standard Bank, to mention but a few. Mpoomy is also a big-time YouTuber and podcaster.
