New 'Money Heist Korea — Joint Economic Area' Trailer Readies Top-Class Thieves for the Ultimate Robbery

Netflix has dropped off the official trailer for Money Heist Korea — Joint Economic Area, the upcoming spinoff of its popular Spanish crime drama series La Casa De Papel (Money Heist).

The 12-episode series will follow a stealthy heist on the Korean Unified Mint in a fictional Joint Economic Area, where “the Korean Peninsula faces reunification,” according to the streamer. The show will feature an entirely new cast with updated takes on familiar characters, including Professor (Yoo Ji-tae), Berlin (Park Hae-soo), Tokyo (Jun Jong-seo), Moscow (Lee Won-jong), Denver (Kim Ji-hun), Nairobi (Jang Yoon-ju), Rio (Lee Hyun-woo), Helsinki (Kim Ji-hoon) and Oslo (Lee Kyu-ho).

The original Money Heist, which was created by Álex Pina, ran for five seasons and followed two different heists — one on the Royal Mint of Spain and another on the Bank of Spain. Pina has returned as an executive producer on the upcoming spinoff, which is directed by Kim Hong-sun and written by Ryu Yong-Jae, Kim Hwan-Chae and Choe Sung-Jun.

Money Heist: Korea is not the only series in the development from the ever-expanding franchise — in November, Netflix ordered an additional spinoff series focused on the popular character Berlin, played by Pedro Alonso, which is set to release in 2023.

Money Heist: Korea — Joint Economic Area will premiere on Netflix on June 24. Watch the trailer above.
