Brenda Mukwevho is a young South African actress and director best known for playing Lufuno in Muvhango on SABC 2 and Dorothy in the House of Zwide. However, she has become versatile in the movie industry, and she has risen through the ranks of the film industry for her various roles in soap operas and her director roles.
She is also an alumnus of the Tshwane University of Technology (Technikon Pretoria), where she studied Theatre Arts.
Brenda had her breakthrough in the film industry after playing the role of a troublesome Lufuno in the drama series Muvhango. In the series, she was the sister to the chief, and this gave her the audacity to do anything she wanted and get away with it. However, her character didn’t last long as she was murdered, and her role as Lufuno ended.
She currently plays the role of Dorothy in another South African soapie dubbed House of Zwide. In the popular TV series, her role as Dorothy is that of a housemaid who serves the Zwide family in the Zwide mansion. However, she is treated with respect and loved like a family member.
Besides having a growing career as an actress, Brenda Mukwevho is also building decent momentum in another sphere of the film business as a director – and she is already making a mark. From 2013 until 2021, the hardworking Mukwevho was the director of the e.tv popular drama series Rhythm City.
She began to pursue a career as a director after the termination of her character Lufuno in Muvhango. After that event, she decided to focus on the behind-the-screen responsibilities. Reports show that her role as Lufuno in Muvhango helped her learn the scope of being a director.
Brenda became the head creative director in Uzalo, which later won the award of most popular soapie in 2018. She also has a directing role in the TV series My Perfect Family Season 2.
