UpClose & Personnal with Kagiso Moreki! And Catching upon his latest Jim Sorrow DPM Album

Proudly from Munsieville, Krugersdorp - multi-talented Producer, Songwriter & Vocalist Kagiso Moreki presents his debut solo music project.

Moreki isn’t a stranger to the music game. He comes well-known from the successful & musically pleasing ensemble BlackSounds which he not only helped bring to life, but also helped contribute to their successful music career that the group has seen so far.

Together they’ve released an album & 2 EPs, namely Black Guava, Imibuzo & their more recent body of work; Sojaiva - each project even more successful than the last.

Additionally, Moreki is also well-known for his Kwa Moreki Sessions & his 31 Days 31 Beats Challenge hosted annually on his Facebook page, which has strongly contributed to him being the household name that we now know him to be today.

Flying solo this time - Kagiso Moreki is set to drop his single Aluta Continua from the album Jim Sorrow DPM on the 20th of August and the full album will be released on the 10th of September 2021. The album is a tribute to Kagiso’s father, David Papi Molomo - whom he lost earlier in the year.

We know from previous work that Moreki isn’t one to shy away from collaborating with up and coming artists as well as blessing his fans with a combination of different sounds in one album & we cannot expect any less from the album set to drop soon.

Moreki promises to remain consistent but this time the entire album will be an Amapiano ensemble, which is fitting seeing as the country’s music industry is currently heavily influenced by the genre.

Jim Sorrow DPM consists of 16 tracks which Kagiso says, “kuzoba kujaiviwa from left to right, start to finish - it’s that kind of vibe”

Most of the tracks were produced by Kagiso Moreki which should come as no surprise as this artist has never been shy to show his passion which he puts into everything he does. Moreki works with other producers on a few of the tracks, namely; Sims Noreng, Quinton Deep & Phonique, Kimz Miyagi, Mosi as well as Shuza Drums & Gift Tonic on the Mixing & Mastering for the project. All of which clearly understood the message and helped deliver the tracks, that they were included on, up to a standard Kagiso imagined his first solo project would be on.

Kagiso collaborated with a lot of young artists from the Westrand in efforts to not only motivate the youngsters who are included in the album but to inspire many others like them.

Adding onto the list of collaborations made by Kagiso, he also worked with Stylists, Celokuhle Celi Ntlatseng, Tshepo Jozi Mokgosi, Pontso, Simple photography & Leburugraphy who helped bring the look and feel of the album to life.

Kagiso Moreki has always expressed & created from a place of dedication openly inviting us to his love affair with music and it comes as no surprise that his first solo album will be saturated with music and features that understand the mandate being served by him.

This project is definitely personal as this exposes Kagiso Moreki on many levels not only as a producer, but as a musician too.

Jim Sorrow DPM will be available for download on all digital platforms upon release and we cannot wait!
